Mobdii, the Iraqi Center for Research and Studies, began the establishment of Irakipedia beginning 2007. Starting in 2013, a collaboration between the Iraqi Institute and the Iraqi Energy Institute resulted in the re-launching of Irakipedia with modern programming and technologies.
Thanks to your contributions, the free independent Irakipedia is set to grow efficiently as supplementary information is added helping position it as the leading Iraqi cultural development site and halting its recent regression. Content enrichment and development in the electronic encyclopedia Irakipedia is open on all its pages and segments in order to fill knowledge gaps about Iraq, its heritage and contemporary history, its rich oil & gas natural resources as well as other vital sectors including economic, social, political and etcetera.
Add to the electronic encyclopedia any information you deem valuable such as your university, district, occupation, hobbies and local interests, cultural wisdoms, tribe or any facts that add to the knowledge bank of others. Help us correct what you perceive as erroneous existing information within the encyclopedia. Contributors do not need prior qualifications to participate in Irakipedia and as such the site is edited by a number of contributors of all ages and cultural backgrounds whether by writing original articles, editing or saving them and everyone is welcome to credit their work with appropriate quotes and sources especially that we have several contributors ready to cross reference the validity of all sources of information. We do not object to the inclusion of appropriate links to other sites, as long as these links help enrich the subject content. Additionally, we do not object to extracting references from a book or source as long as they are clearly and accurately identified.
Contributors need to be committed to objectivity when editing pages or writing information as well as need to present views in an impartial manner while respecting all ideas, theories, opinions and beliefs, and refraining from taking sides when writing so as to avoid having content being expunged by the site’s management. Contribute with what you have personal knowledge about your neighborhoods, universities, districts as well as personalities that you know and want others to know about as well. As such, any addition, modification or contribution, no matter how small at this stage of data construction is greatly valuable to the encyclopedia.
The encyclopedia is everything about everything and cannot be a real almanac unless it delved strongly about Iraq.
